Rocco LaMacchia, Jr.
Rocco is a director of admissions and financial aid at Carthage. He is a 2006 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where he earned a degree in exercise and sports science. He is originally from Kenosha.

What do you learn from interacting with Carthage students?
“I have learned that this school has so much to offer students at an undergraduate level. Many of the experiences students have at Carthage aren’t attained at other schools until students are older or in graduate-level classes. These kinds of opportunities will set you apart from others when it’s time to start interviewing for your career.”
What do you value most about working at Carthage?
“I enjoy working with students and their families, and walking them around campus to meet with current students and faculty, so they get an idea of what life will be like for the next four years.”
Hobbies:
“I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also officiate football and basketball.”

Walking Dead, SportsCenter and Seinfeld.

Rudy, Caddyshack, and Step Brothers.

The Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Cubs.
What would people be surprised to know about you?
“I have my International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) Zone license so that I can officiate international wheelchair basketball tournaments in North American, Central American, and South American countries. I am currently working on my IWBF International license to be able to officiate wheelchair basketball globally, including at the Summer Paralympics.”
What are your recommendations for people new to Kenosha?
“Kenosha is a wonderful city located between major metropolitan areas. While you are here, please take in views of beautiful Lake Michigan. Sample all of the wonderful ethnic family-owned restaurants all over the city. Being Italian, I can never get enough of our homemade pizza. It’s the best!”
Favorite place to eat in Kenosha:
“My favorite place to eat in Kenosha is Casa Capri. It has been in business in Kenosha for over 55 years and is home to my favorite pizza in town.”
